It's a question of confidence in the answers vs. right/wrong. A lot of the work is hypothesis based.

What evidence do we have to support our hypothesis? Is there any disconfirming evidence?

What assumptions are built into our answer? Do we need to test any of these assumptions?

These are the kinds of questions we should be asking ourselves.
