Spotify doubles revenue every 5 years. In fact, no company except possibly Apple and one or two other tech companies have had a 5x increase in revenue in 5 years. So even Daniel Ek couldn't answer this question with any confidence.
So how is a PM candidate going to answer this. Because if they did, it would sound so fantastic and unlikely that no interviewer would consider it valid.
e.g. Apple did a 5x revenue in the 5 years after introducing the iPhone. So if someone had asked this question about Apple, in the pre-iPhone days (i.e. when iPod was the big revenue generator and Blackberry dominated the smart phone market), and the candidate had said "Forget the iPod. Create a revolutionary new touchscreen phone, dominate the Smartphone market and crush Blackberry", what do you think the response would have been?
