Market insights are the foundation of internal alignment and feature development. i.e. what are PMs aligning on? What insight or data is being shared to create alignment? Same for feature development. What is being developed, how is it being prioritized, how will it be marketed without deep understanding of the market? Without it, everything is assumptions and guessing.
Time has to be made for this. And it should be the product leaders (Director, Head of Product, VP Product) etc. needs to make this a priority for the PMs. They should not be left to their own devices on this.
